Meeting with contributors from around the globe, the one thing that always pops up (surprise, surprise) is (a) “How do you cope with the SLOW internet connection in South Africa?” (answer: tranquilisers) and (b) “How do you cope without unlimited bandwidth?” (frequently asked by my intern from Amsterdam after that dear old cap runs out a week before month end).

So yes, we face many challenges in SA when we look at the online game. The cost of internet and the struggle to stay connected SUCKS. We can only hold on to that golden glimmer of hope called the Soccer World Cup, that it will at least contribute to improving connectivity. And with the recent unveiling of Apple’s no-longer-mythical tablet, the iPad, things seem to be going in the right direction for online publishing.

In light of all of this, and for you to have more to Chew on, we proudly introduce the Chew Teaser.
